For those who have missed my voice, I’ve missed it, too. I have spent a year recovering from my 2nd catastrophic stroke. Recovery has been unbelievably hard, but I cannot quit. What I have done in recovery has been respond to my passion to help students improve their mental math skills. To do this, I created Electronic Flash cards – they are located here.

It has been a tough week. I live in Texas and if you’ve seen the national news … you have an idea what has happened in my state. Today, I’d like to just share a little about perseverance – steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
I heard a Call to Action ask that we call/contact others during the blackout and check on them. So, I sent a text message to everyone in my phone who I hadn’t heard from by phone or text. One of the phone calls I received in response reminded me how much I miss human connection. It also reminded me that we all need cheerleaders. Someone willing to “Fan Your Flames” as Will Smith said.
I have a “Hallelujah Chorus” – those who believe in you and cheer most loudly for your success. Over the last year, their voices have become increasingly soft. The reason (it’s been suggested) is – “they want to see you”! Well, to test that reasoning, I will be posting a short video here daily. In a 7-day week, 3 days will be on this page and 2 each on the Ed Help and Skincare pages. Come with me – I look forward to going on this journey with you! Mel
